I don’t know much about the background of these keyboards.. except that this is an example of a non-clicky non-buckling spring keyboard. I once read that these were originally bundled with IBM computers for education use (which might explain the silent touch typing and non-removable keys). Interesting IBM labelled it as an IBM model M-2 (60G0817) which should not be confused with the clicky-variant IBM model M2 (1395300)

Item would be good for environments where quiet keyboards are necessary (libraries, shared offices, covert spy missions...)
