	Designed when "real" typing on a quality keyboard was a required skill to use a $5000 IBM personal computer. (pre-dates the then new mouse-click and graphical user interface operating system later to be known as Microsoft Windows 3.1 and 95)
comments	Keyboard is a 1397599 keyboard (similar to 1391401) made in 1991.  Similar in construction to most 1391401 keyboards without drainage channels but with internal wiring and keyboard controller circuity typical of earlier model M keyboards, metal stabilzer bars on numeric + and Enter keys and space bar and additional original IBM features of removeable, SDL to ps/2 cable, two-piece key caps and key stems and multi-color printing on key caps (green lettering on Alt keys, secondary gray lettering on numeric keypad keys). A brand new 1991 keyboard that has never seen the light of day for 18 years. Has been in storage in original cardboard box with styrofoam packaging. Boxes may have been opened for product photography and to inventory and to confirm new, unused condition.
